Though claims have been made that lecithin is a cheap filler, it actually enhances the absorption of plant-based phytonutrients in greens+. Using well-known antioxidant tests Trolox Equivalent Antioxidant Capacity (TEAC) and Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC), the antioxidant capacity of greens+ and an altered greens+ formula (replacing soy lecithin with rice flower) were compared. It was found that when lecithin was removed from greens+ the antioxidant capacity dropped by about 12-15%.
