Love Your Gut

By Genuine Health

It’s Time to Take a Complete Approach to Gut Health

The health of your entire body depends on one thing: how happy and healthy your gut is.

If you’ve ever had a skin breakout, felt aches and pains in your body, felt down in the dumps, or as though you were catching every cold and flu going around, your gut was involved in one way or another.

Your. Gut. Is. Everything.

But in this day and age, life can be rough on the gut.

  • Eating too much food that causes inflammation, not enough foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidant phytonutrients and polyphenols that come from plant foods
  • Eating too much sugar
  • Living in a state of stress
  • Not getting enough sleep
  • Not spending enough time in nature (and spending too much time in front of screens)
  • Exposure to environmental toxins, and toxins in the food supply
  • Cycles of dieting

When your gut is unhappy, so are you

Digestive issues, allergies, acne, eczema, anxiety, depression, catching every cold or flu that comes around, weight gain, inflammation, problems sleeping, headaches, joint pain… what do all of these conditions have in common? An unhappy gut.

Your gut is everything to you, and when your gut is unhappy, it can throw your whole body out of whack.

Science is just beginning to scratch the surface of the importance of the gut microbiome. But as of 2017, links have been identified between gut health and:

  • Digestive function
  • Immune system functioning
  • Mood and mental health, leading to anxiety and depression
  • Rate of aging
  • Ability to detoxify
  • Skin health
  • Sleep problems
  • ADHD
  • Food allergies and sensitivities
  • Chronic, body-wide inflammation
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Joint pain and osteoarthritis
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Energy and athletic performance

A probiotic is a great first step

If you’re like most awesome people, you probably take a probiotic. This is a great first step. But if you want to really have an impact on your health, you’ve got to create an environment where your probiotic bacteria can thrive.

Imagine that you want to create a beautiful, lush garden that’s teeming with all sorts of species of plants. But what you actually have is a plot of land that hasn’t grown anything in years. You wouldn’t expect to sow some seeds, walk away, and come back to a perfect garden. You’d want to start by making sure that the soil is healthy, and that you’re creating the right environment for your seeds to flourish!

It’s been said that your body is a verb, not a noun; your body is a complex process, not a thing. Rather than treating parts of the body as separate entities, Genuine Health views the body as a whole.

The way we treat it? Foundational nutrition – with a COMPLETE approach to gut health!

This is our 3-step process for true health.

Fermentation PRIMES the gut

If your gut microbes are the beautiful flowers that live in your garden, your gut tissue is the soil that they grow from. Treat the terrain with love, and more gut microbes will thrive. The ancient technique of fermentation not only removes nutritional obstacles, but creates entirely new nutrients that help to nourish and heal gut tissue. Plus, it encourages the growth of healthy bacteria. Get the full PRIME story >>

Probiotics SEED the gut

Gut microbes are your friends, and you want more of them at the party that is your gut! Eating probiotic foods is great, but most guts need a little extra love. A potent probiotic can help to restore biodiversity by seeding the gut with more strains of healthy microbes. Get the full SEED story >>

Polyphenols FEED the gut

Treat your microbes with love and care and they will do the same for you. Your microbes are your friends, and, just like you, they need to eat to thrive! Their favourite food is the same antioxidant-rich food that helps you thrive: a class of phytonutrients called polyphenols! Get the full FEED story >>

Love your gut – and let it love you back. This is Genuine Health’s foundational program to regain your health, from the inside, out!
